At St James Park, Emil Krafth gave Newcastle the opening goal with the club's first finish on goal against the clear champions Manchester City.

The Swedish national team defender nodded in 1-0 behind Scott Carson who made his first Premier League start in 3,645 days (May 2011).

The 26-year-old Krafth, who came to Newcastle before last season, has now premiered in the English top league.

In his 31st Premier League match, he became the 31st Swede to score in the Premier League.

He now stands on a goal just like Erik Edman, David Elm, Henrik Larsson, Teddy Lucic, Roland Nilsson and Rade Prica.

And in the match against City, he was far from being the lone goal scorer.

Before the half-time break, the guests had time to turn around before Joelinton equalized on a penalty in the sixth extra minute.

Seven goals

In the second half, Newcastle took the lead again, but in just four minutes, Spanish winger Ferran Torres completed his hat-trick to 4-3, which was also the final result.

It does not affect anything, Manchester City have already secured the league title and the contract for next season is ready for Newcastle at the bottom.
