Criminal proceedings have been initiated against several BVB fans who gathered in Dortmund after BVB's DFB Cup victory and burned down pyrotechnics.

The large majority of fans adhered to the Corona Protection Ordinance with a curfew and refrained from celebrating late at night outdoors, the police said on Friday in an interim balance.

Around 200 people came together at the Borsigplatz fan meeting point, including members of well-known ultra groups.

From a group of around 80 people from the ultra scene, "various pyrotechnics" were then burned down.

The officials had extensively documented the incidents.

The emergency services had already secured large amounts of pyrotechnics in the immediate vicinity of Borsigplatz.

The vast majority of Dortmunders showed a sense of responsibility and "expressed their joy at home".

Borussia Dortmund won the cup final against RB Leipzig 4-1 on Thursday evening in Berlin.

"The decisive factor is on the couch!"

Before the game, the city of Dortmund and the police appealed to the fans' reason to stay at home despite participating in the final.

Under the motto “It is important to be on the couch!”, The association and the Dortmund mayor launched a call to BVB supporters.

The saying is based on the famous quote "It is crucial on the pitch!" By the ex-BVB player Adi Preißler.

As the police announced, most of them adhered to it.

The action on Borsigplatz remained the exception.

"I have to say that the majority of Dortmund's residents have kept our appeal despite the absolutely understandable joy," said a police spokeswoman for Westdeutscher Rundfunk.
