It has only been a month since the long-distance season ended with the Swedish Championships, but already now the Swedish wall team has started preparations for the coming season.

So far, they have had two collections of natural snow in Bruksvallarna and in two weeks a new collection is waiting in Torsby.

During the gatherings in Bruksvallarna, the team tested skis that the Swedish skiers received from various manufacturers.

- There are large quantities that will go out on snow and be tested to see if we should keep them in the truck or if they should be sent back, says the Swedish cross-country national team's head manager Petter Myhlback to SVT Sport.

Several skiers have participated

Myhlback took on the role of election manager before last season.

He says that there is no revolutionary news that he and the team tested during the gatherings in Bruksvallarna.

- It is always that you try to take things a step further.

Even if they are already very, very good, you always try to challenge.

I would not say that we have tested something that has been extraordinary now, but we are constantly doing this work and it drives the business forward as soon as we come together and work together.

A number of skiers have taken part, but Myhlback does not want to say who they are.

Olympic big goal

SVT Sports expert Anders Blomquist is positive that the wall team has already been gathered twice.

- I think it feels damn good and structured that you are up and running when the conditions are so nice in the mountains.

It feels like these are tests that give something, says Blomquist.

Myhlback says that the big goal for the coming season is the Olympics in Beijing, which starts in February next year.

At the end of November, he hopes that the team can begin preparations.

- As the weather is now, it is not possible to test products, methods and structures against the Olympics.

It does not.

But in late November or mid-December, depending on where we find the right environment.

Maybe it's even possible to travel to Beijing then, around Christmas and New Year.
