The Tokyo Olympic torch relay began on the 9th in Saga Prefecture.

The torch relay in Saga Prefecture connects all 20 cities and towns in the prefecture with more than 170 runners in two days.



After the departure ceremony was held in front of the underwater torii gate in Tara Town at 9 am, the torch relay started.

In Takeo City, Hiroki Ohba, who is involved in supporting the independence of young people withdrawal, shook his hand and ran with a smile, connecting the holy fire in front of the tower gate, which is designated as a national important cultural property by the symbol of Takeo Onsen.



Mr. Oba, who finished running, said, "I was impressed by the support. It was quick."



The torch arrived at the venue at the goal point in Karatsu City at around 7:30 pm, and the fire was transferred to the torch plate, ending the first day.



In Saga Prefecture, the number of people infected with the new coronavirus reached a record high for two consecutive days until the 8th, and some related events were canceled.



On the 10th of the second day, we will leave Kiyama Town and connect the torch to Saga City.
