Johanna Olofsson, 29, is one of Swedish women's hockey's more deserving players.

She has had time for World Cup and Olympic games, 14 seasons in SDHL (Modo, Brynäs, Luleå) and this spring she finished with her second Swedish Championship gold.

- That we did a really good basic series together and ended with a fantastic playoffs perhaps made my decision to finish a little easier.

Although it has of course been emotional considering that hockey has been such a big part of one's life for so many years, the decision feels just right, she says to the club's website.

Olofsson now continues as a physio for the SDHL team in Luleå and she will also be responsible for strength training for the women juniors.

- This is something I have been thinking about for a long time, that once I would make the decision to quit hockey, I would still like to stay and contribute, says Olofsson.

It is already clear that another national team defender, Ebba Berglund, is leaving Luleå.
