After losing in the semi-finals of the Champions League against Chelsea, Real Madrid professional Eden Hazard incurred the anger of his own fans and the media in the Spanish capital.

Immediately after the final whistle, the football star chatted exuberantly with former colleagues from the Premier League club on the lawn of Stamford Bridge and laughed at the camera again and again.

“What is Hazard laughing at?” Asked Antonio Romero in his column for the specialist newspaper “AS”.

The jokes were "like a knife in the chest of Madridism", wrote Romero, especially since Hazard played "miserably" again at the 2-0 draw on Wednesday evening.

Romero wasn't the only critic.

Another "AS" columnist, the extremely influential Tomás Roncero in the Madrid football scene and with Los Blancos, called for the departure of the 30-year-old attacking midfielder with the words "Bye bye Eden".

Hazard "only stands out because of his tourist belly"

The competition newspaper “Marca” meanwhile ran the headline that Hazard was now “in the eye of the hurricane”.

The Belgian was also heavily criticized - and insulted - on the Internet.

The most factual comments mentioned a “poor mentality” and “unacceptable behavior”.

Hazard, who moved from London to Madrid for around 100 million euros in the summer of 2019, was never able to convince Real.

Due to numerous injuries, he played only 24 competitive games in just under two years, in which he only scored three goals.

Romero wrote that Hazard was "only noticeable by his tourist belly" on the square.
