It was already on Monday last week that the news came that Piteå's meeting with Linköping in the damallsvenskan - which was to be played on Sunday - was postponed.

This is due to covid infection in Piteå's player squad.

Now, after negative covid tests, Piteå is ready to play matches again.

- We did new tests last Friday where everyone showed negative and equal yesterday, Tuesday.

We thus expect that there will be a match against Växjö on Sunday.

We will see if we need to take a few more tests or so, we will coordinate with infection control.

But as it is now, it looks great as there has been no more spread, says the team's doctor, Arne Zingmark, to SVT Sport.

Are you fully recovered or what does it look like?

- We are not completely restored.

Some were completely symptom-free and they are of course running and training fully, but there was another who got symptoms that were mild but which are not completely restored yet.

Tough reboot

In terms of play, Piteå had a heavy start to the season with two losses before the corona broke out and has placed as a jumbo in the young damallsvenska table.

Now a tough restart awaits where the team will play three matches in one week.

The postponed match against Linköping has been placed on Thursday next week, 13 May.

- There was no discussion.

We probably had another date we would rather have played on.

Then they decided on this morning.

We had not expected anything else.

We have tried to prepare for this, says sports director Leif Strandh to Sportbladet.

SVT Sport has sought Piteå's coach Stellan Carlsson.
