At the 2019 WC in Seefeld, Austria, 30-year-old Östberg won five medals.

Just before the season was to start in the autumn, Östberg was stopped due to health problems when the nutrient intake was too low.

- It has gone so well for her (in training) that there is no doubt that she would get a place in the national team.

But there is a but.

The risk of new injuries is there, says national team coach Ole Morten Iversen to Norwegian Dagbladet.

Several stress fractures in the heel

Before the health problem, Östberg suffered several stress fractures in his heel, something that began in the spring of 2020. With that history, Iversen is aware that it is important to hurry slowly with Östberg, who will not be in all camps before the summer break.

After the summer, Iversen reckons that Östberg can fully participate in the national team gatherings.

- I think she will be involved in most things and then be involved and fight for medals in the Olympics, says Iversen who previously said that Östberg has not lost anything physically.

She can run normally and has no problem skiing.
