These are the first names that the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK) has taken out for the Winter Games next year.

In addition, SOK gives the go-ahead for four relay teams - men's team, women's team and sprint relay team for both men and women.

The cross-country skiers took six of a total of 14 Swedish medals during the last Olympics in Pyeongchang.

In the World Cup earlier this year, Sweden also won six medals divided into two gold, two silver and two bronze.

"The last four winter games, the Olympic team has had a high level of medals and a large part of that is good results," says SOK's operations manager Peter Reinebo in a press release.

The selections continue during the week.

On Wednesday, the first biathletes are taken out, and on Thursday it's time for alpine and skicross.

The Beijing Olympics will be inaugurated on February 4, 2022.
