Portland Trail Blazers' Carmelo Anthony entered the top ten players with the most points ever in the NBA on the night from Monday to Tuesday.

The 36-year-old forward came through his fourteen points in the away game against Atlanta Hawks (123-114 loss) to 27,318 points in his career, pushing Elvin Hayes (27,313 points) from tenth place.

Founded in 1949, the NBA's all-time top scorers list is led by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, with 38,387 points, followed by Karl Malone and LeBron James.

The top five is completed by Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan, who passed away last year.

Anthony is in his eighteenth season in the NBA.

The forward started his career in 2003 with Denver Nuggets.

after which the American moved to New York Knicks in 2011.

Anthony became the NBA's top scorer in the 2012/2013 season with the New York team.

Via Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets, Anthony landed at Portland Trail Blazers in 2019.

Anthony is with James the only player in the top ten who is currently still active in the NBA.

Abdul-Jabbar's record doesn't seem unattainable for 36-year-old James, who plays for Los Angeles Lakers.

Abdul-Jabbar, now 72, played in the NBA from 1969 to 1989, for Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers.
