An old woman helps Marcelo to travel with Real Madrid to London

The Spanish newspaper "Marca" revealed today that the star of Real Madrid, the veteran Brazilian, Marcelo, could not travel to the British capital, London, accompanied by Real Madrid, for the second leg of the European Championships tomorrow.

The newspaper said that an old woman was a direct reason for allowing Marcelo to travel with his team.

She explained that the case is related to the fact that Marcelo works as a volunteer at polling stations in the Spanish capital, Madrid, and was supposed to perform his duty in the Alcobendas region, during local elections in the capital, which coincides with that tomorrow, which makes his travel unthinkable.

The club applied to grant him an exception, but the Spanish authorities refused that request.

As Marcelo was preparing to stay in Madrid, an old woman who was second on the volunteer list after Marcelo, to monitor the elections, volunteered to take his place and allow him to travel.
