The World Championship in 100-cell drafts ended in Warsaw, which attracted special attention due to the scandalous episode with the removal of the Russian flag.

Russian Tamara Tansykkuzhina managed to cope with psychological pressure and on the ninth game day she broke the resistance of the polka Natalia Sadovskaya, defending the title of the best drafts player on the planet.

The final day of the competition was particularly intense.

Before the start, Sadovskaya's advantage was four points.

The classical game did not reveal the winner, so the only chance for Tansykkuzhina to continue the fight was to win in rapid.

And although it was enough for the polka to bring the game to a draw, the Russian woman confidently coped with her task and leveled the score - 54:54.

In this case, as in matches for the title of world chess champion, the winner is determined by a tie-break, with the only difference that the game of rapid chess continues until the first defeat.

But the two strongest drafts players in the world did not plan to retreat: five games - two rapid, and then three blitz - ended in a draw.

But in the sixth Tansykkuzhina still managed to outwit her rival and once again proved that she is the queen of drafts.

Now she has seven championship titles, the first of which was won back in 2001.

It is worth noting that apart from Tansykkuzhina, this tournament was not submitted to any Russian woman.

Despite all the difficulties and vicissitudes of the current confrontation, the athlete was pleased with herself.

"I am pleased.

This is the seventh time.

I survived, and in the end, luck accompanied me.

This is the most difficult and longest tournament.

Natalia is an experienced match fighter, she plays very reliably.

At some point, I didn't even expect to win.

This is great luck.

I have shown steadfastness and endurance, "TASS quotes Tansykkuzhin.

In turn, the coach of the Russian woman Yuri Chertok noted the tension of this confrontation.

“It's just fantastic, something incredible, you can't even imagine such a plot on purpose.

This is Tamara's finest hour - in my memory there was not such a tense struggle, usually everything was decided in advance.

This match will undoubtedly go down in history, the best of those that I have ever seen, "Chertok admitted.

According to him, a native of Naberezhnye Chelny will receive € 12,000 for the victory, and her rival - € 8,000.

An unpleasant incident that darkened the match for the world title occurred on April 27 during the fourth round. One of the organizers of the competition, Jacek Pawlicki, came up to the table and took off the sign with the Russian tricolor and the flag itself. This caused bewilderment among the domestic drafts player, but she continued the game. Nevertheless, what happened prevented her from concentrating at the end of the game, and she lost. Thanks to this victory, Sadovskaya led 32:16 and significantly increased her chances of winning the title.

Later, Pavlitsky explained that the request to remove the flag came from the president of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Vitold Banka.

According to him, because of the sanctions against Russian sports, state symbols should not have been present at the tournament, so the Polish side could have serious problems, including deprivation of international status.

The incident caused a wide resonance in Russia.

Many condemned the actions of the organizers, since they not only interfered with Tansykkuzhina and deprived her of a potential victory, but also grossly violated the rules.

The Russian woman herself did not blame the local federation, although she noted that the incident with the flag overshadowed the tournament.

According to her, in Poland everyone was friendly to her and there were no other problems.

“We have good relations with both Natalia and the Polish Drafts Federation.

Immediately after the match, they apologized, said that they had to do so.

To make it easier for me, they decided to remove the Polish flag.

It was a joint decision of the organizers and Natalia, ”explained the Russian woman.

Interestingly, after the incident, the tournament could have turned out completely differently.

The Russian Drafts Federation (FSHR) considered the possibility of demanding a replay of the scandalous game.

However, Tansykkuzhina, her husband and coach were asked not to do this.

“The Polish athlete is one of the strongest in the world.

Tamara is a tactful, calm person, but inside, of course, she had a real storm.

But she knows how to manage this, she is a fine fellow, she knows how to control herself, which is not so often seen in such difficult situations, ”said Federation President Anatoly Nikitin.

The famous commentator Dmitry Guberniev congratulated the Russian woman on her triumph in Warsaw.

“And again Queen Tamara!

Tamara Tansykkuzhina won the world drafts crown in a bitter struggle!

Became a seven-time world champion!

This is character!

This is success!

The will to win!

Do not wake up dashing while it is quiet!

Bravo!"

- wrote Guberniev in Telegram.

The former world champion in heavyweight boxing, and now the deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Nikolai Valuev, did not stand aside from the victory of his compatriot.

“This is a very significant and pleasant victory in all respects. Our athlete should be set as an example, because at the Olympics the Russian national team will definitely have to face something similar. And at the moment of truth, it will be necessary to think about the goal, and only then, upon reaching it, doubly rejoice. I cannot fail to note the act of the Polish sportswoman, who by her behavior is a thousand times superior to politicians and temporary functionaries. Tamara Tansykkuzhina is the queen of drafts! The Russian woman defeated the Polish woman Natalia Sadovskaya in the World Cup final. What a fine fellow! She won, despite the scandal that happened during the tournament, ”Valuev wrote on his Instagram.
