According to the announcement, considering the severe situation of the international epidemic, in order to fully protect the health and safety of young athletes and avoid the risk of infection during visits and transfers, after communicating with FIBA, the Chinese Basketball Association decided not to send teams to participate in the 2021 FIBA U19. World Cup.
In order to maintain the players' competitive status, the Chinese Basketball Association will arrange for U19 men's and women's basketball teams to conduct training sessions for about three months starting from mid-to-late May, during which they will participate in planned domestic competitions.
The U19 Men's Basketball World Cup will be held in Riga and Daugavpils, Latvia from July 3 to 11, 2021 local time.
The U19 Women's Basketball World Cup will be held in Debrecen, Hungary on August 7-15, 2021 local time.
