Arsenal is one of the twelve clubs that were behind the heavily criticized "super league" and since then the owner family Kroenke has had to endure harsh criticism.

On the same day that thousands of Arsenal supporters gathered outside the home arena to protest against the owners, the Swedish Spotify founder Daniel Ek wrote on Twitter that he was interested in buying the club.

Now Daniel Ek announces that the interest is serious and that he plans to place a bid.

- I have been an Arsenal supporter since I was eight.

Arsenal is my team, I love their history, the players and the supporters.

I see a great opportunity to set a real vision for the club to return to the heyday, he says.

- I'm very serious.

I have secured the money for it, and plan to make an attractive bid and I hope they listen to it.

The coach backs Kroenke

The owner family has already said that it is not relevant to sell the club.

Arsenal's Spanish coach Mikel Arteta has shown his support for the current owners, and says that their commitment to the club is genuine.

- If they (the supporters) would have the opportunity to get to know them, I'm sure they would be surprised, Arteta says.
