LIVE

After Barça and Bayern Munich, PSG is rubbing shoulders with another big name in European football. The Parisians face the Manchester City of Pep Guardiola, wide leader of the Premier League, on Wednesday evening in the semi-finals of the Champions League. At the Parc des Princes, Mauricio Pochettino's men will have to contain the impressive armada of the Citizens, arguably the best current team in Europe. But the Parisians, who achieved the feat of eliminating defending champion Bayern in the quarterfinals, have the weapons to get a good result before the return match, in a week at the Etihad Stadium. It will take at least that to open the way to a second Champions League final in a row, after the one lost last year. Follow the meeting live.

>> PSG - Manchester City can be followed live and in full on Europe 1 for a special edition from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

PSG - Manchester City: kick off at 9 p.m.

Update on the compositions: left side Bakker, no pure 9 in City.

The compositions fell, with classic on both sides.

The only surprise on the Parisian side: the tenure of Mitchell Bakker as left side.

The attack will be composed as often of Di Maria, Mbappé and Neymar.

On the City side, Pep Guardiola chose an attacking trio without pure center-forward, with Bernardo Silva in "false 9", accompanied by Mahrez and Foden.

The components:

PSG: Navas - Florenzi, Marquinhos (cap.), Kimpembe, Bakker - Paredes, Verratti, Gueye - Di Maria, Mbappé, Neymar

Coach: Mauricio Pochettino (ARG)

Manchester City: Ederson - Walker, Dias, Stones, Cancelo - Gundogan, Rodri, De Bruyne - Mahrez, Bernardo Silva, Foden

Coach: Pep Guardiola (ESP)

The supporters point: another superb tifo from the Parisian ultras.

As against Bayern Munich, PSG supporters have given their players an XXL welcome.

Several hundred of them first sang and lit smoke bombs at the departure of the Parisian bus in the early evening.

Then above all, they reserved a magnificent tifo which covers a large part of the Parc des Princes.

Even behind closed doors, the Parisians will not be totally alone tonight.

In fact, it's even more beautiful!

The PSG point: practically complete and in great shape

.

PSG come forward with full confidence, with three wins in a row since the defeat in the quarterback against Bayern (0-1).

In Metz, Saturday (3-1), Kylian Mbappé confirmed his current form with a new double.

Mauricio Pochettino will also be able to count on an almost complete group, a rarity for PSG in the Champions League.

Update on City: a great machine to play, but ...

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are a team like their coach: offensive, extremely playful, full of talent ... but not unbeatable. The Citizens remain a final won in the League Cup, Sunday against Tottenham (1-0). Large leader in the Premier League (10 pts ahead of United, second), City is therefore in contention for the treble. But the English, who eliminated Mönchengladbach in the eighth and Borussia Dortmund in the quarters, are not unbeatable. The proof: they were beaten three weeks ago by Leeds (2-1) and eliminated ten days ago in the semi-finals of the Cup by Chelsea (1-0). It will nevertheless take a great PSG to beat this formidable armada.

The "Superleague" point: what if PSG had already won the match in the image?

This meeting comes ten days after the psychodrama around the European Superleague project. Twelve clubs, including Manchester City, had announced their intention to secede to create their own competition. PSG had refused him, like Bayern, to take part in this ephemeral project. 48 hours later, the six English finally backed down, under pressure from fans, politicians and public opinion, outraged by this Superleague. For our editorialist Virginie Phulpin, PSG has already won the image battle.

Update on the issue: the C1, their common obsession.

PSG and Manchester City, the two "new rich" of European football, arrive in the semi-finals with the same ambition: to lift the cup with big ears for the first time in their history. The Parisians, however, exorcised their demons by qualifying for the final last year and successively eliminating Barça and Bayern this season. Manchester City, on the other hand, has experienced many disappointments in recent seasons, especially last year by losing to Lyon in the quarter-finals. The Citizens will play the second C1 semi-final in their history, after 2016, when they eliminated in the quarter-finals ... PSG.
