Before Monday's match, Skellefteå had to take three straight victories against Rögle to reach a Swedish Championship final and not have to check in on holiday.

On Monday, they took at least the match series to a fourth match after a victory with 4-1, where Rögle leads the match series with 2-1 in the best of five.

Skellefteå, who had seven straight games without scoring in powerplay, suddenly had ice break in that form of play - also twice in the first period.

First, Melker Karlsson steered in the lead puck after Oscar Möller's shot pass when six minutes were played.

Just a few minutes later, Niclas Burström lifted in 2-0 from close range.

A heavy start for Rögle who came into play without Daniel Zaar and Moritz Seider and where also Dennis Everberg went out with a suspected injury during the first period.

- It's crazy too bad.

We expected them to come out desperately and they did.

But there is no excuse, everything is too bad right now.

We have four expulsions and two are in the attack zone, that must not happen.

The passing game is too bad and we do not win a puck.

We have to step up, Rögle's Simon Ryfors told C More after the first period.

Was pressured but expanded

Adam Tambellini reduced to 2-1 when just over half the match was played and in the third, the Ängelholm team put full speed ahead and also had an early shot in the post. The guests pressed frantically for an equalizer puck - but instead Skellefteå increased to 3-1 when Jesper Frödén hit the puck behind Rögle's goalkeeper Christoffer Rifalk from close range.

Joakim Lindström put the decision 4-1 in an empty cage.

Match four is already played on Tuesday - also in Skellefteå.
