Golfer Wil Besseling has to miss the Tenerife Open this week.
The 35-year-old North Hollander has to be in isolation in Gran Canaria for ten days because he has been tested positive for the corona virus.
The infection at Besseling was established after the Gran Canaria Open in Maspalomas.
At that tournament of the European Tour, he finished in shared 29th place on Sunday.
Besseling seemed to be heading for a top position at the Gran Canaria Open.
He was in the handsome second place in the standings halfway through, but dropped somewhat in the last two days.
The born Hoorner finished more than a week ago at the Austrian Open in shared fourth place.
Due to his good performances, Besseling has risen to the 194th place in the world rankings.
This makes him the best Dutch golfer after Joost Luiten (163).
Luiten does participate in the Tenerife Open.
The 35-year-old South Hollander was joint eighth at the Gran Canaria Open, together with Darius van Driel, among others.
