Newcomer Degerfors went goalless from their first two Allsvenskan matches after returning in the highest league.

But on Monday night came the club's first Allsvenskan goal and victory in 24 years.

They won 3-2 after a jump start that shook Blåvitt.

- We have been a little anxious the first matches.

The crucial thing was that we got a management and a greater calm and better self-confidence, says Johan Bertilsson in Discovery Plus.

Goalkeeper board by Anestis

With 27 minutes played, Ferhad Ayaz nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar.

Giannis Anestis was on the ball and should have had control of it, but lost the ball and Degerfors had 1-0.

But Degerfors was not content there.

Eleven minutes later, they extended the lead when Johan Bertilsson nodded in 2-0.

Extended further

It only took three minutes of the second half before Bertilsson extended the lead further.

But a reply from Gothenburg came quickly.

Hosam Aiesh put 1-3 just three minutes later.

And with a quarter of an hour left, they got even closer.

Kevin Yakob scored 2-3, his first goal in IFK Gothenburg.

Blåvitt put enormous pressure at the end and lined up chances.

But despite five extra minutes, they did not manage to equalize.

Degerfors won 3-2.

- It is tedious.

They lift in and are heavy for a fairly long time.

It was close but we are worthy of this victory, says Johan Bertilsson.

"Am so damn happy"

Oliver Ekroth, who has played in Degerfors since 2018, was really happy after the match.

- We push each other and run for each other then it is easy to play football.

There are many who make incredible efforts today, I'm just so damn happy, he says.

There were all the more disappointed faces in Gothenburg after the match.

- It's a pretty bad match.

We get a forcing towards the end but it was not a good match, says Pontus Wernbloom to SVT Sport after the match.

- We play a little too much sideways.

We play handball around them and do not get any hot goal chances.
