The English second line was injured "quite seriously" in the neck during a National rugby match (third division) Sunday against Narbonne.

“It happened on a scrum that turned and some of the players fell on him.

James Lasis had a cervical dislocation.

He was operated on Sunday evening urgently, explained Hervé Moni, sports manager of the club.

It's a pretty serious injury.

We are now waiting for the results of the medical imaging that will be done to find out what exactly he has.

He had left Mâcon last summer

James Lasis, 25, left Mâcon last summer, where he played two seasons in Federal 1 (current 4th division), to join Stade Nice in National, a championship launched by the French Rugby Federation this season.

After its defeat against Narbonne on Sunday (24-19), Stade Nice is in second place in the standings, six lengths behind the leader, Bourg-en-Bresse.
