The Japan Sumo Association has decided to hold the Grand Sumo Summer Place, which will reach its first day on the 9th of next month, with no spectators during the period of the state of emergency, and after the cancellation, the spectators for the tickets to be sold until the 27th will be included. ..

A state of emergency has been declared in four prefectures, including Tokyo, from the 25th of this month to the 11th of next month.

Under these circumstances, the Japan Sumo Association discussed how to hold the Grand Sumo Summer Place, which will be the first day at the Kokugikan in Tokyo and Ryogoku on the 9th of next month during the declaration period.

Then, on the 26th, we held a rotating board meeting and decided to hold the event from the first day of the summer place during the declaration period to the third day of the summer place on the 11th of next month as no spectators.

From the 4th day onward, if the declaration is lifted, the event will be held with the audience for tickets sold by 5 pm on the 27th.

The Sumo Association will announce at a later date how to refund tickets up to the third day.

This is the first time that the main sumo wrestling venue has been held without spectators since the spring venue in March last year in Osaka.
