Henry deplores Arsenal's position on the "Super League"

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry said he did not anticipate the actions of his former club in recent times regarding his accession to the new European Football Super League and praised the role of the fans in thwarting the controversial project.

The European Super League project collapsed just days after 12 prominent European clubs announced it last week, as a result of widespread protests from the public, game federations and governments.

Thousands of fans of the London club demonstrated against its owner Stan Kronke before his home match against Everton in the Premier League last Friday.

"I do not believe that this is the club I belong to and all that is happening now ... after he tried to join a league that was doomed to collapse, which I do not understand..Perhaps they do not fully understand the truth of my values. Football and the sums may have been very large to a tempting degree ... but in any case they were wrong.

"I was shocked, like most people, and could not believe what was happening .. I hadn't talked about that before, but what happened made me realize the importance of the role of the fans ... which I consider responsible for the club because I am a fan of Arsenal too," Henry added.

"I am proud of what the crowd has achieved," Henry added.

Not just the Arsenal crowd, but all the fans.

The result was a football victory. ”
