Next to him, Woods has his dog Bugs, a boarder collie.

Woods smiles big and writes: "It goes better for the golf course than for me, but it's nice to have a faithful rehab partner, man's best friend."

He is now at home in Jupiter, Florida, for further rehab.

In the single-vehicle accident in California early Tuesday morning, Woods drove twice the speed limit.

The police estimate the speed to be between 135 and 140 km per hour against the permitted 72. He may have accidentally pressed the accelerator pedal instead of the brake pedal and then lost control of the car.

Unconscious after the crash

Tiger Woods himself has said in interrogation that he has no memories of the accident or that he even drove a car that day.

An eyewitness states that Woods was unconscious for the first few minutes but woke up when the first police patrol arrived at the scene.

The superstar broke an ankle and suffered two bone fractures.

Plates and screws made of metal were operated on to repair the damaged part.

Woods was allowed to stay for a month for specialist care at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

It is unclear about the 45-year-old Woods future on the golf course.
