On March 20 last year, Iksu was awarded the Swedish Championship gold in SSL when the season ended due to the corona pandemic.

But it did not take long before a real killing blow came for the champions.

Only a week later, it was decided that the club would stop giving its elite support to the women's team, something that in the long run would make a continuation unreal for the champion club.

- We were sad that we did not mean as much as the club did for us, says team captain Emelie Wibron.

When it became clear that there would be no continuation in Iksu, the players met quickly afterwards and made a decision on the continuation.

A decision to stay together in a team whether it meant playing in the top league or not.

- It was we who sat there in the dressing room who built up Iksu and not Iksu themselves, says Amanda Delgado Johansson.

- It is unique, coach Christoffer Suominen comments on the players' decision.

In the report above, the now Team Thorenspelarna tell about the Iksuspelarna's decision in the locker room and the road to a new final.
