Skellefteå made it to the semi-finals through a tough quarter-final series against Luleå, they finally won the seventh and decisive meeting on Tuesday.

Rögle had a much more comfortable quarter-final trip.

Frölunda was beaten by four straight victories.

And Rögle continued his triumphant march in the first semifinal.

They won 3-2 despite great Skellefteå pressure at the end.

- We get a great start.

We play intensely and physically, says Rögle captain Mattias Sjögren in C More.

Doomed goal

Rögle started briskly and took the lead just under three minutes into the first period through Dennis Everberg.

The reply then came quickly when Niclas Burstrom equalized for the guests.

But the joy was short-lived because the goal was ruled out when the referee team thought that Burström's skate was on the goalkeeper's club.

Instead, Rögle expanded its lead at the end of the period.

Only in the middle of the third period did Skellefteå's first goal come.

Oskar Nilsson put 1-2 on an assist from Joakim Lindström.

"Plays a little too safely"

Skellefteå pressed for an equalizer but only after Rögle increased to 3-1 came a new Skellefteå goal.

Oscar Möller put 2-3 with just over two minutes left and Skellefteå got another chance to catch up.

They got several good chances but the equalizer never came and Rögle took home the first semis.

- We play a little too much on security in the third, we play a little too safe, says Sjögren.
