The day after the announcement of the withdrawal from King Street, investment fund owner of the Girondins, the mayor of Bordeaux Pierre Hurmic was the guest of Europe 1. He wanted to be optimistic about the future of the club and assured that two buyers had already come forward to take back the Girondins.

In Bordeaux, surprise gave way to worry.

Thursday evening, King Street, the American investment fund owner of the Girondins de Bordeaux, announced that it was withdrawing from the club, thus plunging the Girondins into crisis.

The FCGB is in fact placed under the protection of the commercial court.

But Friday, Pierre Hurmic, the mayor of the city, engaged in the file, wanted to be optimistic.

"There are already potential buyers. There are personalities who have come forward," he said, referring to the names of businessmen Bruno Fievet and Pascal Rigo.

"This can be a good opportunity for those who are very attached to the spirit of the Girondins, to draw the contours of a new sporting project," he added.
