SMP was the first to report on the injury that occurred during Växjö's training on Wednesday.

Striker Violah Nambi landed badly and suffered double leg fractures.

- We played small team games and in a regular duel so when she landed and put her foot in the ground, her body continued to spin and twist.

The foot remains.

A twist, says Stefan Karlsson, assistant coach at Växjö DFF, to Sportbladet.

"The back of football"

Nambi was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

She has undergone an operation and a long absence due to injuries awaits the 25-year-old.

- Of course this is the back of football.

Everyone has been injured.

But maybe not with someone breaking their leg that way.

Regardless, it's never fun when it happens.

You feel for the person.

It is a tough period she will go through now, says Stefan Karlsson.

Nambi had just started training again after a knee injury.

She was in the match squad in the last round.

Växjö plays against Häcken tonight.
