The International Equestrian Federation FEI has decided to suspend Andrew Kocher for ten years.

The FEI has also decided to fine him almost SEK 160,600 and to delete his results from the last eight competitions in 2018 and 2019.

It was last summer that the French equestrian site Grandprix.info noticed that Kocher rode with electric spurs.

In a video that the site published, you could see that the American was holding a check with a button on one hand.

The control must have a cord that goes down to the rider's spurs.

When the rider then presses the button, the horse receives a shock.

In October, the FEI decided to shut down Kocher during the investigation. Now that the American has been suspended for ten years, he is banned from attending competitions organized by the FEI or national federations.
