Ahmed bin Mohammed: UAE sport has proven its ability to recover and return quickly

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, stressed the importance of creating mechanisms that serve the interest of the UAE sport and enhance the level of athletes at all levels, in light of the solidarity of all institutions and relevant authorities in the country, and their keenness to achieve one goal, which is to uphold the flag Home in the largest forums and sporting benefits.

His Highness stressed the importance of organizing the various aspects related to the march of the sports sector, opening the way to ideas and proposals, then selecting the distinctive ones to be applied, in a way that achieves the desired benefit for all, and strengthens the position of the UAE sport on the global map, so that its results and achievements are in line with the direction of our wise leadership in preparing for the next 50 years. His Highness pointed out that “Emirates sport has demonstrated to everyone during the past year its ability to recover and return quickly through the practices that have been adopted regarding the organization of events and events remotely, and the creation of new methods and methods for performing daily exercises, while organizing many scientific and academic events through techniques. Visual communication, in order to invest time, and refine the skills and capabilities of our athletes in the best possible way.

This came during His Highness presiding over the work of the 44th General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee, which was held via visual communication technology, in the presence of Hamid Al Qatami, First Vice President of the Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Executive Office, Muhammad Al Mahmoud, Second Vice President of the Olympic Committee, and Muhammad Bin Sulayem, Secretary General of the Committee And Eng. Azza Bint Suleiman, Assistant Secretary-General for Financial and Administrative Affairs, as well as representatives of sports federations who attended the meeting "remotely".

The meeting of the General Assembly witnessed the approval of the membership of the Bow and Arrow Federation and the Electronic Sports Federation for membership of the National Olympic Committee, after they had fulfilled the membership requirements, and Nada Askar and Khaled Rashid Hamid Al Zaabi were also approved as members of the committee's board of directors.

During the meeting, the attendees recommended that the athletes participating in sporting events and entitlements obtain the "Covid-19" vaccine, to ensure their protection and safety, in a manner that achieves the desired benefit for all participants.

The meeting also recommended the intensification of educational and legal workshops for the members of the sports federations, to introduce the nature, tasks and specializations of the Emirates Center for Sports Arbitration, in order to spread awareness of the required image for the entire sports sector, in addition to the recommendation related to transferring the proposals of the sports federations to the Executive Office of the National Olympic Committee for discussion and study.

The minutes of the 43rd General Assembly meeting, the general Olympic report of the National Olympic Committee for the year 2020, the financial report and the estimated budget for 2021, and the estimated budget for the participations for the same year were approved.

The General Assembly approved the programs and activities of the National Olympic Committee for the year 2021, and the attendees were briefed on a detailed report on the work of the Emirates Center for Sports Arbitration during the last period.
