The women's hockey World Cup is canceled for the second year in a row

It is already clear that the B-WC, where Sweden is located, will be canceled.

But now also comes the news that the A-WC, which should have been played at the beginning of May, will be canceled.

- We really believe that we had the right security measures to be able to protect players, leaders, supporters and all residents of Halifax and Truro based on Canada's previous experience of arranging the junior WC, says René Fasel in a press release.

The International Ice Hockey Federation, IIHF, writes that it is reviewing alternative dates later in the summer of 2021.

- We must accept the authorities' decision, but that does not mean that we will not have a women's hockey World Cup in 2021, says Fasel.
