The IOC opposes games with violent elements as they are considered to be in conflict with the Olympic values.

Therefore, they have collaborated with game developers and sports federations to develop e-sports competitions in five traditional sports.

Between 13 May and 23 June, the IOC will hold competitions for cycling, sailing, motorsport, baseball and rowing.

The events will either be held in the players' homes or at training facilities.

"The development of the tournament is in line with the Olympic agenda '2020 + 5' and the IOC's digital strategy. It encourages sports participation and highlights the Olympic values with a special focus on young people ", says IOC President Thomas Bach in a press release.
