Sanne and Lieke Wevers achieved three final places on Wednesday at the European Gymnastics Championships in Basel during the qualifications.

Sanne Wevers reached the final battle on the beam and Lieke Wevers on both the beam and the all-around.

The European title fight in the St. Jakobshalle in Basel is the first international tournament for the Dutch gymnasts in more than a year.

It is a first for Sanne and Lieke Wevers that they meet each other in a bar final at a European or World Cup.

The best 24 gymnasts (maximum two per country) will qualify for the all-around final on Friday.

For the equipment finals, of which the one on the bar is on Sunday, only the top eight per event are eligible.

Sanne Wevers is the favorite for the gold in the bar final.

She became Olympic champion in that event in 2016.
