Sweden was drawn in the same group as the USA, Australia and New Zealand, where the reigning world champion and four-time Olympic gold medalist USA is the big favorite.

- A tough group, but Sweden will move on.

The positive is that two teams from each group and the two best three advance to the playoffs.

And now Sweden does not have to face the United States in the quarter, says Markus Johannesson.

Sweden played a draw against the USA, 1-1, in an international match at Friends arena earlier in April.

"Have another gear"

Johannesson says that Sweden can upset the favorite, but:

- It should be remembered that the United States has at least one more gear than what we saw on Friends.

There are some players who were not involved, Sweden went at a very high level while the USA has a little more to go on.

It is clear that the United States is a big favorite.

To go far in the tournament, Sweden must - in addition to having healthy players in good shape - dare to believe in their offensive, says Markus Johannesson.

- They must continue the offensive thought that has been for a long period.

To create things on your own and decide matches on your own and not wait for your opponents' mistakes.

It is about taking more and more initiative in matches even against nations that are ranked higher than Sweden.

Sweden has the capacity for that, it is about believing in what you are doing.

"Has capacity"

How far can Sweden go?

- Sweden can go all the way, but then maximum flow is required.

It is a difficult tournament, there are small margins and close matches.

But that Sweden could go all the way and stand with a gold medal, absolutely.

Sweden is no worse than the Olympic silver last (2016).

Then there was some post in and it will be required again and an even greater effort will be required, but Sweden is better now than they were then I think.

- Above all, they have improved flexibility.

They can play both attacking and defensive games in several ways.

They are also sharper on the offensive half.

There is a clearer structure in the attacking game, what they want to achieve.

They know what they want to do in the offensive half of the plan and I see that as very positive, says Markus Johannesson.
