It is an unusual situation faced by the women's national handball team.

After an outburst of covid, none of the players in the squad who were in Ukraine will be allowed to play in tomorrow's match.

Instead, you have to put together a whole new team in less than a day.

- It's lucky that Sweden won by 14 balls because I'm not sure that Sweden can put together a strong enough team to win.

But in the first place, it is about minimizing a possible loss, says Magnus Grahn to SVT Sport.

Bet on players in the U-national team

Grahn does not believe that there will be any difficulties in getting teams together.

The match is played in Lund and Skåne and western Sweden in particular are a stronghold in Swedish women's handball.

- When you take out a gross squad for a championship, it contains 26-27 players.

Then you go 16-17 to the championship.

So there are about ten players that you can call in.

Then you have to find four or five more pieces of the puzzle.

Then I would have bet on some who are in the U-national team and knock on the door, says Magnus Grahn.

In the middle of a playoff

Two players that Grahn would like to see and who he thinks will get the chance are Isabelle Andersson in Höör and Wilma Matthijs in Skuru.

But it will not be completely unproblematic for the Swedish clubs that many of the players come from.

- This can have consequences in the sense that there are a lot of players from the domestic league who are currently in the playoffs.

All of a sudden, teams can not train as usual because it is players who are gone.
