The Liverpool owner apologizes to the fans and coach Klopp over the Super League

Liverpool main owner John Henry apologized to fans and coach Juergen Klopp on Wednesday over the confusion caused by the announcement of his participation in the UEFA Super League.

Liverpool was among six English clubs that announced the establishment of the Super League on Sunday, before retreating on Tuesday amid a storm of objections from fans, players, coaches and governments, as well as threats to impose sanctions from the European Union (UEFA) and the International Federation (FIFA).

"I am sorry, and I alone are responsible for this unnecessary negative atmosphere in the last two days," Henry said in a video clip on the club's website.

"This is something I will not forget, and this shows the power that the masses possess today and will continue to have them rightfully," he added.
