On the 18th local time, UEFA jointly issued a statement with the English Football Association and the Premier League, the Spanish Football Association and La Liga, the Italian Football Association and the Serie A, announcing that it will join FIFA and other associations to jointly block the so-called "European Premier League" plan.

UEFA was originally scheduled to announce on the 19th the restructuring plan for the UEFA Champions League after 2024, but some Premier League, La Liga and Serie A clubs plan to stand on their own and separate from UEFA to create the "European Premier League."

UEFA and the aforementioned six organizations stated in a statement that the "European Premier League" plan is a closed project based on the interests of some clubs. Clubs joining the "European Premier League" will be prohibited from participating in the country, Europe or the world. Any other competition within the range and its players may be deprived of the opportunity to represent their national team.
