It was only a race for Marit Björgen when she made a comeback as a skier this winter, but it went all the better when she finished second in the Vasaloppet.

Now she has signed a contract that says she will run five long runs in Ski Classics for her Team Ragde this winter: Jizerska Padesatka, Marcialonga, Vasaloppet, Birkebeinerenn and Reistadlöpet.

- Marit is unique, both in performance and attitude.

Everyone who likes skiing can enjoy the times we see her on the starting line, says team manager Jörgen Aukland.

Björgen is eager for revenge after being defeated by Korsgren.

- I was very close, and I'm a competitive person.

I must admit that.

A second place in the Vasaloppet is a bit like a fourth place in the championship, she says.

On the other hand, the Norwegian, who has eight Olympic gold medals, thinks it will be tough to match Korsgren and the other top skiers.

- I do not think I will get faster with the years.

But I think I have a bit to take away both technically and in terms of capacity in the stacking.

The upcoming season of Ski Classics is broadcast on SVT.
