Paris Saint-Germain qualified for the semi-final of a European Football Club Cup (Champions League) during which they will face Manchester City or Borussia Dortmund, on April 27 or 28, then on April 4 or May 5.

PSG passed despite a 1-0 defeat at home against Bayern Munich, April 13, 2021, in the quarter-final second leg of the Champions League (3-2 in the first leg).

In these times of Covid and matches without spectators, the notion of home and away matches definitely doesn't mean anything.

A week after winning 3-2 on the lawn of Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) indeed lost 1-0 on their home ground, in the quarter-final second leg of the Champions League (C1).

The three goals scored by PSG in Germany, however, made the difference.

Neymar and the accursed PSG

After twenty minutes without clear opportunities, the meeting really comes alive.

First on the Bayern side, a curled shot from striker Leroy Sané (26th) and a strike from midfielder Joshua Kimmich (27th) passing narrowly next to the Parisian right amount.

But the real unlucky one is Neymar.

The Parisian playmaker wastes four clear chances.

First by losing a duel against Manuel Neuer (27th).

Then seeing the opposing goalkeeper deflect his coiled shot (34th).

Then by sending the ball across the cross with a subtle enveloped strike (37th).

And, finally, by pulling on the Bavarian left upright (39th).

Unbelievable…

But the locals are not at the end of their sentences.

Because in the seconds which follow, the winger Kingsley Coman crosses towards the middle David Alaba whose strike is rejected by Keylor Navas.

Center forward Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting then throws himself on the ball, ahead of defender Presnel Kimpembe with his head: 0-1, 40th.

The Cameroonian, already a scorer in the first leg, struck again against his former club ...

Parisians hold on

In the second half, the champions of France close ranks against Munichers always more pressing.

Alaba sends the ball to the side of the frame (47th).

Coman misses the break ball (69th).

But that's about all.

Kylian Mbappé is even denied a goal for a slight offside (78th).

Despite this 1-0 defeat, PSG are taking revenge on a Bayern who had beaten them in the final of the last edition.

He will thus play the semi-finals of the competition for the second time in a row.

It will be against Manchester City (England) or Borussia Dortmund (Germany), on April 27 or 28 (semi-final first leg), then May 4 or 5 (return leg).
