Washington still tops the table in the East Division.

Against Philadelphia came the team's third straight victory when they won by a clear 6-1.

Already in the first period, the home team scored four goals where Conor Sheary started the goal shooter after seven minutes of play.

Two blue and yellow goal scorers

Before the period was over, both Nicklas Bäckström and Carl Hagelin became goal scorers.

Bäckström got the puck from Alexander Ovetjkin in powerplay and from a narrow angle he could put 3-1.

Two minutes later, Hagelin was released between the technical circles and made no mistake.

This was Hagelin's only fourth goal (twelfth point, 4 + 8) this season in 42 games.

Goals in the first match

The 26-year-old Canadian Anthony Mantha was traded to Washington and last night made his first match for his new team - played by Bäckström. He became the second goal scorer of the second period before Alexander Ovetchkin closed the goal scorer in the third.
