But now the Belgian federation announces that their great hope, Nina Derwael, will not come to this year's European Championships.
She has suffered a minor foot injury and together with leaders she has made the decision to drop out of the European Championships to be able to bet on this summer's Olympics.
- It is a pity not to be able to participate in the European Championships, but the goal is the Olympic Games and therefore this is the best decision, Derwael says in a press release.
Nina Derwael has two World Cup golds and two European Championship golds in conifers.
On April 21, the European Championships in artistic gymnastics will begin, which will be broadcast on SVT.
