Rasmus Bengtsson has won three Swedish Championship golds for Malmö FF and played Champions League with the club.

He has also belonged to German Hertha Berlin and Dutch Twente.

It was also U21-Em 2009 and some national chambers with the A national team.

"It feels like a relief now"

The 34-year-old now announces that he is ending his elite career.

- It feels like a relief now that I have made the decision.

All my football dreams came true in MFF and I am happy and proud of that, Bengtsson says to Expressen.

On March 4, MFF wrote that the club had agreed with Bengtsson to end the midfielder's contract.

He had a tough time with coach Jon Dahl Tomasson.

He ended up in the freezer and quarreled with the coach.

"I have been treated like a rat," said Bengtsson.

- No one is bigger than the club, Tomasson replied.

"Has not changed at all"

As I said, Bengtsson feels relieved to have made the decision, but is not completely satisfied with the end of MFF.

- The end was not as I wanted and it was as it was with the coach.

What feels sad is that he will be away from Malmö FF in a year or so and have nothing to do with the club, while my relationship with Malmö FF will always be the same all my life.

My relationship with supporters and the club has not changed at all, says the midfielder.
