On Sunday, Skellefteå and Luleå offered a long run where the final minute of the fifth period was needed before Skellefteå could decide and take the lead in the quarter-final series.

When the teams met again already on Monday, it was again an even match but which would have a different end where Luleå equalized the match series.

After a goalless first period, the guests were able to go up to a 2-0 lead through an effective powerplay.

Good powerplay

Juhani Tyrväinen gave Luleå the lead before Filip Hållander - in game five against three - made it 2-0.

Powerplay was a success factor, because it was there that Skellefteå reduced at the end of the middle period, Jesper Frödén goal scorer.

Skellefteå had bids for more goals during the two initial periods, but outsmarting Joel Lassinantti was not easy.

The experienced goalkeeper was responsible for several sweaty parades that kept Skellefteå away from more online sensations.

Hållander match winner

Filip Hållander, on the other hand, found the net in the second period and so also in the third.

It was he who with two minutes left put 3-1 in the open goal.

And luckily for Luleå - it would turn out - when Roland Mckeown reduced to 2-3 - but then only five seconds of the match remained.

Luleå won, equalized to 1-1 in the quarter-final series and can now look forward to returning home for matches at home on Wednesday and Thursday.
