In an interview with the podcast BC Luleå pod, Jeffery Taylor criticizes the Swedish Basketball Association's handling of Viktor Gaddefors' criticized statement in an interview with Länstidningen in Södertälje earlier this year.

An interview that was later published.

- I am not the world's biggest fan of the Swedish basketball association and those who make the decisions there, but I do not think that they handled the Viktor Gaddefors situation in a good way, says Taylor in the BC Luleå podcast.

In the interview, Viktor Gaddefors reasoned about French and Italian basketball, where he said that the French league has more black players and is therefore more athletic.

While in the Italian league you play smarter.

- His statement was quite idiotic.

I do not think that Viktor Gaddefors is a racist, I have played with him and I have hung out with him a lot.

It was an idiotic statement, Taylor continues.

"Should have been turned off"

The statement was criticized because the reasoning is based on old racist stereotypes.

Both the Swedish basketball league and Gaddefors, together with their club SBBK, distanced themselves from the statement.

- I think the Swedish national team should have shut him down.

My question to the basketball association and to the national team is, why was he not suspended in any way ?, says Jeffery Taylor.

Closes the door to the national team

In the podcast, Taylor also closes the door to games in the national team.

- It's a closed chapter, says Jeffery Taylor.
