On Monday evening, it was time for Kalmar and Östersund to step into the Allsvenskan season.

On the Kalmar bench, Henrik Rydström was back in the coaching position after two years in Sirius.

It was Rydström's Kalmar who started strongest but despite several good positions in the first half, they went to the break with 0-0 on the scoreboard.

Just before the break, Jonathan Ring, who has joined his brother Sebastian Rings Kalmar again after three seasons in Djurgården, was lamely replaced after being injured.

Östersund also suffered an injury.

After just 16 minutes, they were forced to replace an injured Mensiro.

"They took command"

The second half between the teams, which was last season's most goal-poor, also went goalless.

Kalmar had the most goal chances, eleven against five, but have to wait for the first goal of the year.

- They took command in the first but in the second we get into it.

Hopefully we could have scored a goal but now it did not happen, says ÖFK coach Amir Azrafshan to Discovery +.
