The engineer of Real Madrid's achievements is bidding for a new presidency

Florentino Perez has officially submitted his candidacy for re-election as Real Madrid president, the Spanish champions announced Friday.

So far, no one has submitted a candidacy against Peres since the nomination window was opened on the second of April, knowing that the deadline expires next Monday.

If more than one candidate does not present himself for the electoral process, he will be declared president “within three working days after the closing date of the application for nominations,” that is, between April 13 and 15, according to the system adopted by Real Madrid.

The 74-year-old businessman ascended to the presidency of the Royal Club in 2009 and was re-elected twice by acclamation in 2013 and 2017.

He was also the man who engineered the team that included a constellation of "Galacticos" stars in his first term between 2000 and 2006 and thus spent 17 years at the helm of the ancient club.
