Zlatan Ibrahimovic revealed the name of his character on Instagram by posting a picture with the word "Antivirus" without any explanatory text.
The main character Asterix is played by the Frenchman Guillaume Canet, who also directs the film.
Other sports stars who have appeared in Asterix films are football player Zinedine Zidane, basketball player Tony Parker and Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher.
Zlatan has appeared in a number of commercials over the years, but the French production will be his first feature film.
