Jürgen Klopp gave free rein to his displeasure after Liverpool FC lost 3-1 in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League against Real Madrid.

The 53-year-old Liverpool coach criticized the German referee Felix Brych.

Already on the way to the catacombs one could hear over the microphones how Klopp said to Brych on Tuesday evening in Madrid: "This is unfair."

At the press conference after the defeat, Klopp explained his anger: “The situation with Sadio, I have to say what the referee did tonight, I don't understand.

For me it was something personal, ”Klopp sensed dishonest motives.

He had the feeling that after a situation that Brych might have seen as a swallow, Mané no longer received a foul against him.

"That's just not right, I told him after the game." Klopp also emphasized that Liverpool had not lost because of the Bundesliga referee.

"We weren't good enough," he said.

National player Toni Kroos convinced with strong passes.

Only Mohamed Salah (51.) scored for Liverpool.

BVB is also at odds with the referee

“If you want to go to the semi-finals, you have to earn the right to do so.

We don't have that tonight, especially in the first half.

The only good thing I can say about this game - besides the fact that we scored a goal - is that it was only the first leg, ”said Klopp at BT Sports.

The second leg in England will take place on April 14th.

A referee's decision was also discussed in the second quarter-finals between Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City.

After a back pass, Manchester goalkeeper Ederson jumped the ball (37th).

Dortmund's strong Jew Bellingham tipped the ball away with his foot and was much earlier on the ball. But referee Ovidiu Hategan whistled the situation prematurely.

However, since the ball was not in the goal, the scene could not be checked again by the video assistant.
