"Not only did he steal my bike, but he took away my illusion and the possibility of finishing my challenge. They stole my dream and the possibility of having another bicycle, since I am still paying for it in installments. I was only six months old. I don't know. how am I going to continue competing ".
This is the message that the Zaragoza cyclist
Gorka Reina
has spread in a video that he has posted on social networks.
It happened last Easter weekend when he participated in the international Volcat event, in Igualada (Barcelona).
Despite the fact that on February 2 he had a fall with a broken radius and his arm was still bandaged, he was ready to face four days of a 194-kilometer and 4,900-meter climb between trails in the mountains.
At the end of the second day of competition, he put the bicycle in the van and went to eat.
When she returned, she was gone, they had taken her away.
The robbery left him so affected that he could not continue, although they left him another bicycle.
It had cost him 4,800 euros that he is still paying in installments.
In the aforementioned video, she asks for help to find her: "I know it is difficult, but not impossible."
His colleagues from the Sock Data Bike Team cycling club in Zaragoza have launched a campaign on Facebook to raise the money he needs to pay for it.
In case the bicycle appears, the money would be donated to an NGO.
Gorka, 23, is, according to his teammates, "a fighter and hardworking kid, who invests what he earns in helping his family mainly, and later, in his passion, which is cycling."
He was 17 years old when they operated on both knees and they told him that he would not get on a bicycle again, but his determination led him to recover and continue competing.
He has achieved some titles in XCM endurance tests, of 'bike marathon'.
