Marek Hrivik is in his second season in the SHL and has scored 14 goals and 37 assists in 44 games this year.

The 29-year-old, who thus won the points league, has thus been a strong contributing factor to Leksand's successful year so far.

Now the Slovak is praised as SHL's most valuable player and receives the Golden Helmet.

"It is not wise.

I am overwhelmed by this award and I want to share it with my teammates, they have a big part in it.

It's really great to get an award like this precisely because it is the players in the league who vote.

I also know who has won the Golden Helmet before and to now be part of that list is very honorable ", says Hrivik in a press release.

Leksand finished third in the regular season, which the team has not done since 1998.
