Minnesota began by taking the lead in the first period, through goals from Ryan Hartman, assisted by Marcus Johansson.

But visiting Colorado started the goal machinery in the second and before the last period break, the score was 4-1 to the visitors.

- We know what we need to do and how we have to play to beat these guys.

We thought we were different from what we were in the second period and did not do what it took to beat this team.

But we fought back and made it difficult for them in the third, says Minnesota's Ryan Hartman after the game.

In the third, the numbers were evened out somewhat, among other things through goals by Marcus Johansson.

But as I said, that effort was not enough all the way.

- The first and third period was really good for us, others not so bad, says Minnesota coach Dean Evason.

Colorado has now picked up points in the 15th game in a row, and the loss is the first at home for Minnesota since January 30.
