In October, the board of the International Ski Federation (FIS) voted out Secretary-General Sarah Lewis with immediate effect.

SVT Sport was then able to reveal that the reason was that the board felt that she had put time and resources into a candidacy for the chairmanship while she had been general secretary.

Now, six months after Lewis was fired as general secretary, she is running for chairman of Fis, following Gian-Franco Kasper, who will step down in June after 23 years in the position.

If Lewis becomes chairman, it will be the first time a woman has held the post during Fi's 97-year history.
